My 93 had the same problem. The support was snapped in two when I got the car, but the guy who sold it to me didn't toss it out, like so many people would do.
I think the remark about the cupholders "Whoever thought of this wasn't thinking" is close to accurate. I disagree about the door cupholders though, Those were very handy. You had to be careful not to slam the door though, or you'd get coffee (or whatever) on your pants leg.
I like the dual holders in the center on my 2000, but see that they redesigned it in 2001 so they were offset and could actually hold two drink cups. The only way I can get to drinks in mine are if they are small or in cans.

their hawaiin style and their actually from my mother law shipped them from hawaii and they say made in kiuia or some crazy hawaiian town i see all kinds of hawaiin seat covers everyday dont u?
