The install is the same as installing a fully assembled strut. Very quick and nice.

One thing to keep in mind is the springs they use on the quickstruts are the base level SE spring and not the firm ride SSE/SSEi springs. If someone with a FE3 suspension puts on the quickstruts they are downgrading their springs to the FE1 springs.

Thanks Bill. I have the SSEi so will have to take a deeper look into the benefits of ease of install compared to a weaker spring.

If it helps any, I had never done struts and when I did do them...they were pretty easy to assemble.

I have an air gun and had the freebie spring compressors loaner tools from the parts store. Compress the spring and then zap the nut off the top of the mount. Move rubber, boot and spring to new strut, put new mount in place, zap new nut on top and remove spring compressor.

That'* the procedure and the only tough part is having the moxy to remove that nut. Many guys do it by hand, it'* really not overly hard in comparision to many other projects.

Very true. I heard all the spring compressor horror stories and how hard it can be as a novice, but it really is no big deal once you've done it. The only thing is, how many miles are on the old springs and does it sit lower than it used to. The strut cartridge wont bring it back up.

What'* the cost difference between the fully assembled and just the struts? Mine need replaced and since I have FE1 suspension it wouldn't hurt me any to get the fully assembled

The difference is about $100. I would expect the difference to be likewise whatever the best price is.
