Default Anyone tell if this is a upper control arm or an entire upper, lower, knuckle?

Looking at replacing the ball joints on the 98 ZR2 S10. When I did a pre-work check, I saw the control arm bushings are shot. Rather than drill out the old ball joints, and then pull the control arms to replace the bushings, I thought to just get replacement control arms.

Some checking uncovered the ZR2 "High Wider" control arms may be different than standard 4wd S10 control arms. RockAuto does not list a difference. I went to GM parts catalog and came up with upper control arm part # 15661507 for the left side, S10 ZR2 High Wider. When I searched for the part I found it at Amazon for $253. When I go to a few GM dealers, they list part number 15661507 (or 15661508 for right side) as the upper control arm, lower control arm, and knuckle. Wondering if a someone would take a look at this link and tell me what they think 15661507 is (just a let upper control arm or the upper, lower control arm and knuckle.

Last I knew, ZR2 suspension parts do not work with non-zr2 frames. You might want to check the *-10 forums first on that.

Mike,

I have checked on the "ZR2" forum and the data is inconclusive. I know the 15661507 is for the S10 ZR2. My questions is why when I run the part number (15661507) on a GM dealers site, it states that number includes the upper and lower control arm, along with a knuckle. When I run 15661507 on Amazon, it only shows the upper control arm.

If I can get a OEM upper and lower control arm, and a knuckle for $220, makes it a easy decision to buy the package over buying ball joints and control arm bushings separate.

A quick follow up. The upper control arms are the same for all 1998 S10 4wd pickups. The lower control arms in a 98-99 S10 ZR2 are dirrerent- below are the part numbers for the ZR2:

35 **777766 ARM FRT LWR CONT,(PART OF 12472994 ARM KIT),(INCLS 33,41,47) (NOT AVAILABLE) T1 (ZR2) 1 98-99 R -- --
35 **018805 ARM FRT LWR CONT,(PART OF 12472993 ARM KIT),(INCLS 33,41,47),(LESS BALL STUD NUT, PIN) (NOT AVAILABLE) T1 (ZR2) 1 98-99 L -- --

The above parts also show not available. Finally, I suspect the standard S10 4WD lower control arms can be substituted when the ZR2 lower control arms are not available.

might be how they make it higher, those zr2s i think sit higher than the standard s10, you may have to do something with the rear or maybe you can crank the bar some to level it back out depends how much. typically though that causes some troubles with ride.
