Just got off the phone with 'Jeff'.
Great guy who is just like us, only with one really nice Bonneville alot of us would kill for. He is also a Bonneville fan and has owned quite a few, including the current 1992, 1993 and a 1979 coupe which is one of 5,3xx with bucket seats out of 179,416 1979 Bonnevilles made.
Apparently the car looks identical to Foghorn'* and it is REALLY LOW mileage. He said it has closer to 3-400 miles than 1,000.
I talked to him for about 15 minutes and look forward to seeing him on here soon.

So everyone get ready to welcome Jeff and his collection.

While it is a special edition, and with very low miles it'* really not much more than a used car right now. He might find someone willing to spend big money, but I can't see it being worth more than $15-20K right now.

While you may be right, $10,000 for this car is truly an extremely low-ball offer considering some dealers are selling 97-99 SSEi'* with 50-75K miles for $9,000+.

Default Hemmings 1997 SSEi 40th Anniv.

Just thought I'd say hi! I'm Jeff and I own this car. I'd have to agree that by definition it is a used car. I believe that I've seen more new cars with 300 miles on them in car dealer lots than I have seen used cars with 300 miles on them in car dealer lots! Anyway, if someone wants to turn back the hands of time and buy a new used or used new (take your pick) 1997 SSEi 40th Anniversary in 2006, this would certainly qualify for the job!

I'd like to thank you all for your kind comments in these messages and especially thank OLBlueEyesBonne for the phonecall and the opportunity to talk "Bonneville" with someone that appreciates the subject! My first car was a 1977 Bonneville Brougham 4-door. Not the normal first car for a 21 year old, but when I saw my first '57 at a local car show, I was hooked on the Bonnevilles.

Thank you again for all your interest!

Jeff

Hey, welcome aboard Jeff.
Glad to have you join here. Welcome to the madness that we share here.... you already know our weapon/tool of desire.
I have to say this is probably the first time we've had a member with a used Bonneville (over 6 months old, except for maybe the hard-to-sell-new 04 GXP'* which didn't sell until late '05) with under 1,000 miles.

I personally would love to see this car, and if I had an extra $20K+ to invest I wouldn't hesitate to buy your car. I have always wondered if there were any 'NEW' 92-99 SSEi'* out there yet and what it would be like to purchase one.... found out what it'* like to find one, but between being layed off for a couple weeks over the past 2 months and going back to college (career change) I can't make it fit into my budget/needs/affordable pleasures.
I really wish that we had a member here, and it'* possible that we may although I know of no one in particular right now, that had the funds, and was in the market for your NOS (that'* a term that seems to be, a rather unknown term here).

You had asked about club gatherings while we were talking on the phone and I told you about our National Meet, which typically takes place in Ohio, but I was being distracted and forgot to mention the boys and girls from New England/Toronto area who get together quite regularily. Watch the Meets section and no doubt you'll find an upcoming gathering as it seems they have one every month or so.

Again welcome and I hope to see you around.... Good luck with the sale also.
