Default My Joyride Reviews

I have taken a joyride in three cars: IowaMax (the import), Park Avenue (Gonneville), and the famed 8-ball. I will give you guys my thoughts on these cars.

My first joyride was the Park Avenue. Upon getting in, it was outrageously comfy. We got on the road, Brian gave it a bit of gas and it took off. My thought was "It'* not that fast" but I glanced over to the speedo and it was in the 80-90 range. Holy moley! The PA is a smooth hot rod, We went on the highway (70 E) Brian gave it full throttle and we rocketed down the onramp VERY SMOOTHLY and we were in the 100 mph range. I was absolutely AMAZED. Brian even offered to let me drive her, I said no, no thanks. Why I told him I didn't trust myself enough (the truth is that if I drove her, I would come over to the dark side of Boost) But maybe later on, if Brian offers again, I'll drive her. I have decided that if my car blows up (UIM) I'm going to scrap her and get a PA Ultra or something with a L67. Oh the */C whine may have been impressive but it felt upon deaf ears sorry Brian

The second was 8-Ball. Hehehehehehehehehe Man I'll tell you that car is the biggest Viagra I've ever seen and ridden in. I got in and Todd was turning around to exit KOA, that car rippled POWER at every small throttle touch and turn. If you've ridden a built musclecar, same thing. Todd took it out and floored it, it threw me back and the car gained speed like a rocket. We were going 30-35 then a few seconds (maybe 2-3 seconds) we were at 80-90. Oh my god......then the stupid *bleep bleep bleep bleep bleeping* troopers ruined the ride back to KOA. Very impressive Todd and I hope to ride her again so you really can flex her muscles.

Lastly was Matt'* IowaMax ( I call it IowaMax because it came from Iowa plus it'* catchy). I got in, nice. We got on the road, we accelerated to the speed limit (35 mph) and we were waiting for the new speed limit to come up (55) it was in third gear and he gave it plenty of gas and it zoomed away. I gotta admit, I was truly impressed. then Matt turned around and He floored it (he messed up the 1-2 shift) but I swear the tires barked a bit I swore I heard it. Then the car rocketed down the road, the speedo? I didn't look at it, I was admiring the blurring landscape. Matt, it'* a very nice car, I really liked it. It'* a very strong car, keep it and learn the 1-2 shift dude.

If any of you guys who WERE at CEBF or have ridden one of these machines, you may add your reviews/thoughts.

I didn't offer anyone a joyride because no one was interested in a lame L36

Thanks for the sparkling review, Cody!
Once I get those mounts filled, and the 3-2 downshift doesn't make the engine thud anymore, it'll be even smoother.
I did realize something later on. If you want some idea of what we mean about the whine from these things, take a drive sometime in mine. You can feel the whine through your gas foot! The pedal now vibrates in sympathy to the ungodly howl from under the hood...
As for your L36, I would like to get a feel of what the base models are like. Several people have stated that N/A cars have more torque at low-mid throttle, where the L67 is still in vacuum. I know you kept up with me OK as we were leaving.
Try talking to Dave on GOClubGP sometime about his N/A GP. He'* running the borderline of 13'*.

Yeap. The Ohio troopers tend to be A$$es. I don't like them either.

8-ball was AMZAING .
It was probably the fastest car I have ever ridden in.
It was liike 30-100 in 3-4 secs.
And omg the sound of the exhaust along with that 2.6 pully was music to my ears.

Yes fuel the tires did chirp! on the 1-2 shift once that maxima hits 4000 rpm its almost like a turbo kicking in.

Yeah, I gotta give it to Nissan, they managed to build a passable car there.
That motor is from the next gen of Maxima, when the car bulked up a lot. Dropping it back down into the lighter car, with mods, on a more flickable tranny(6spd is nice, but has less feel), it'* gotta sing.
