Default alarm/remote start. diy or shop?

hey guys. ive been looking for a combo for awhile now, and after walking out to my car the other night and finding 4 people sitting on my trunk, i think im ready for an alarm. ive got a few questions.

1) will my memory seats still work with the clickers?
2) if i (or someone else) install a system with just a tilt/shock sensor will the factory alarm features (unlocking from the inside, key in ignition before car is unlocked etc) still work?
3) will my car still flash at me when i lock/unlock it?
4) is it a diy job, or should i just know my limits and hand it off to a shop?
5) whats a good price at a shop or otherwise, and what did you pay?

thanks alot!

ps, if you recommend an alarm please give me some searching terms so i can find that model

ive never had good luck with aftermarket shops, the one made my car so bad i had to have it towed to the dealer to remove and get it to work again. so ive done my own for the last 3 or 4 cars. its a crappy job thats why i tried to have someone else do it, but it boils down to being to important to trust someone else when you are stuck states away and cant do anything but have it towed. so all that being said i think with a few tips most slightly handy people could do it.

only use solder and heat shrink, to important to use any crimp on and i wont even mention the splices that come with most things have no place even being made, use those and guarantee failure at some inconvenient time down the road.

ive found taking the seat out actually speeds the process because of accessibility and your back feels better after too.

1) not sure never messed with it, your seats move depending on the remote or you have to push a button on the dash?

2) all that should work normally the door lock and unlock of the alarm is parallel to the stock wiring so you dont unhook the factory stuff

3) depending on what type of setup you want you can make it do what you want. i set up mine to flash but i dont care for the noise so i set it up that way

4) see above

5) shop around i paid 350 installed by a "reputable" aftermarket shop that has been in business a long time and that was the one that took out my 03 monte.
