Quick stupid tranny question
Ok I was on another forum talking about the benefits of a turbo for my engine (not that I want one, it'* not worth it) and well anyway, I mentioned that I lose almost 30% power at the wheels. He replied:
Doesn't he have it backwards?? I thought FWD cars lost more power to the wheels. Either way, I know my car has 110 whp so it loses more than 25%
noooo...a RWD car loses about 25% or so...your loss would be much less than that, but i dont recall the exact numbers...

i think both are about the same.. it depends on more than if its FWD or RWD.. Torqueconverters and Transmissions in general affect it the most.
my car is rated at 205.. dynoed at 146 wheel, thats about 25% loss.

Toastedoats..yeah I agree on the trannies. Every car is different in that respect. You only have 146whp? That'* about 28% loss. :?
EDIT: Yeah that seems about right..when I saw 146 I thought that was too low...but that'* where it should be.
