i love snow with a passion, but this really blow'*
me totally away and get me upset.. this same $h!t happened to me last year.. its all fine and nice and then when i drop the car off for paint the very next day it freakin snows..
so i went to maaco yesterday and dropped my 95 se off for new paint as i finished all the body work and i needed the car there before the 14th so i can meet the half price special. well i went there with 4 of my friends and when i was talking to the guy who was inspecting my car i told him quote
(hey listen if you do a good job on my 95 bonneville and im satisfied then i'll bring you my 88 bonneville and my friends will all bring their cars which means 5 more cars total and all will be paid in cash..)
then one of my friends siad yeah you can think of it as the 95 bonneville being a sample of what you can do for us..and sure enough he said he would do the best job he could in order to get the other cars in his shop and get our buisness..
i was so damn happy because they already have a good rep from what i hear..
but im so upset because all this week starting today with an inch by tonight will be snowing, hailing, freezing rain and back to sow by thursday friday..
" which means salt and snow all over the road for my 30 minute drive back from maaco when they finish"
i am so not liking this right now.. would me drin=ving the car back home in those conditions mess up the new paint even tho they bake it in an oven to cure and dry it .?

I fully respect your distress in a situation like this, I am glad you care for your car as much as you do In this situation i would ask macco to hold my car in the shop for a day or two. I am not a body man or anything but i wouldn't drive my car after a fresh paint job, especially in that nasty salty grimey roads. Here in Toronto and other city'* within Canada they have a mixture of salt and sand...sand giving better grip in bad icey conditions(like we have now). I am most certain that sand cannot be good for that fresh paint. Just my 2 cents.

I wouldn't worry TOO much. Just make sure as soon as you get it back to the homestead, give it a thorough rinsing and get all that crap from the roads off of the vehicle.
As far as flying debris goes, I know around here when they put the lil stones on the roads, they hang around all winter until the street sweeper comes around. I'm used to salt in MI.
