Many members here like the crosslaces. However I believe the people that don't like them probably tried to clean them when they were very dirty and those rims are a serious pain in the butt to clean.

I use the Castrol Super Clean stuff in the purple jug. It seems to easily remove the brake dust for me...I use it on the Bonneville and the wife'* Expedition.

Ok...you should know that regular superclean will take off most finishes and some paints. Not sure if you are using a superclean wheel cleaner or the regular superclean. I've used the stuff for other things before and it'* very potent cleaner.

LOL, yeah Bill, I found that out the hard way on my old Lincoln LSC...

I simply wet the wheels first, spray them with the regular purple stuff cleaner, then a quick wipe with a rag before a thorough rinse...no problems yet, but thanks for the head'* up...I probably should have put a small disclaimer in my above reply...

I actually prefer Simple Green, but scored a 2-1/2 gallon jug of the Super Clean very cheap so I've been using that. It definitely seems more potent than the "green stuff"

Sure is and even more expensive is the Meguires Hot Rims cleaner I use. I find it works well...but it'* not cheap. Lakeville has cross laces and used Eagle A2Z I think it was...said it did wonders for him.

i don't like them because of what has already been stated here - PAIN TO CLEAN!
