Default 95 SSEi vs. Early 90'* STS

This was about two years ago. My friend and me pulled up to a light in my 95 SSEi with the windows down, the stereo up and the sun shinning. Before the light went green an early 90'* Cadillac STS pulled up next me. The light went green and neither of us took off like we were racing but our personal pride kept us trying to stay a nose ahead of the other. Now we are stopped at the next light. I'm in the right lane looking to make a left at the next light while he was in the left lane. Of coarse now there is some desire to prove who has the better car. I had been a fan of the STS so I know that they have a descent v8 under the hood. Then he revved his engine, I returned the same, and it was on! I pulled it back in to first, one foot on the brake and the other covering the gas. I was waiting for the light to change when a nice slow moving car pulled out right in front of me in my lane. Not more the 15 seconds later the light turned green. My Bonneville lurched forward and had an instant half car lead on the STS. The Caddy'* engine was just screaming but he wasn't gaining. Then I hit second gear and the sweet spot, 30-50 or so. Now I am starting to make some serious distance. By now I am comming up to the slow moving car really fast. I am already doing 90+ so I looked back and found that I had more than enough room to gracefully take the left exit I was hoping for. I had him beat by a good two and a half car lengths. My friend, the gentleman he is, waved at the STS through the sunroof as they pulled up by us at the next light. It was obvious by the looks on their faces that they weren't going to try that again anytime soon! I was living high of this whoopin' for months!

Yeah, those Caddies have powerful motors, but their gargantuan mass slaughters their acceleration.

Good kill
