Don't put insurance on it till you need it. Otherwise just garage it, and tinker. Maybe do a long term High performance rebuild? You can always turn it around and make lots of money if you need money in a pinch.

Back on topic... hard decision....
You can't really ditch an 04 for a 94, even if it is a Vibe/Bonneville comparision... sad but true.
And a 98 Aurora, vs the 94 SSEi... again it'* a difficult argument... but I'd have to say ditch the Aurora before the Vibe... simply based on a combo of age and fuel economy.
So the only choice is to buy the 94 or not... the "selling one thing for another" doesn't seem like the right thing to do IMHO.
I think SSE14U24ME had the best idea.... have the 94 as a project or backup car. Don't put any insurance on it, just have it for standby if you need it, or make it your project car and let the aurora/vibe go into the ground. If you ever need to drive it, simply call up and have insurance put on it.
Anyways that'* my 2cents...

Sorry guys(and gals), I didn't have a chance to take pics tonight of the two cars. Besides, the Bonneville is up on jack stands right now awaiting a new harmonic balancer. I went ahead and got new plugs for the bonne. Whether I get the car or not, I think it'* right to put in new ones anyways. My aurora looks like Jim W'*, but it'* not the autobahn package. I love my Aurora...I picked it up a few years ago(it'* a 9 from an old lady for like $14K and it only had 29,000 miles on it. It definately needs new front struts though. I think once I get the car back together...I'll get my fiance' drive it a few times to see if she likes it....hey, ya never know!

well..looks like the car is gonna be sold. I got it back running well...no more clanking or warning lights. The good news is since I did the work they are giving me half. ahhh..sorta sad though after putting time into it then getting to romp on the gas yesterday and feelling the SC kick in!

I love the car...but the fact is..she'* probably right. We need the money more than the car right now. With me about to start school again in 2 months, cash flow will be down. I guess the upside is that when I'm done and have a practice I'll hopefully be able to get whatever car I want. Until then.....at least I have the satisfaction of getting this one running well.

man....after all of her saying we don't have the money to spend $1k on the SSEi, she told me today we should spend $1500 on a new mattress!!! SHEESH! I'd just as soon sleep in the car.
