Im trying to find some new tires to replace the "el-cheapos" i have on my 00 se. Ive been looking around and I am leaning towards the Pirelli P4 All seasons. They got pretty good reviews everywhere I looked, and have an 85000 mile treadwear rating. Just wondering if these tires are a good choice (i found them for 70 on tirerack.com), and im also looking at some american racing rims (coils probably) thanks.

I REALLY like my Continental ContiExtremeContacts, and I believe they're the 3rd best tire in it'* group. The Pirelli'*, IIRC, like to wear a lot quicker than normal tires, and those warranties usually have some fine print with them. Like it'* voided if you don't balance and rotate every 3k miles...

I've got em on my new GTP, so far, I've been satisfied, but its only been about 200 miles on em so far.

Seeing those winter ratings and where you're located, I'd try looking for another tire. My tires are pretty good in the snow, but I can imagine that those tires are a good amount worse due to the ratings on tire rack.

I just this week replaced my Eagle RSA'* (after 50,000 miles) with Goodyear Triple Tread 80,000 mile tires. The difference in slush and on ice is remarkable. Also a nice, aggressive tread.

Goodyear Eagle RSA'* are awesome in the winter - but they wear out pretty fast. If you have a good allignment, they last a while.

I love my Pirelli'* that I have on my Supra. They are the best all around summer tires I've ever had - great in the rain too. They really hook up, and don't hydroplane that much on the highway when it'* wet. The tread design must be really good.

Id love to buy some of those but they are way out of my price range

Though you may be striving not to pay a little, I recommend getting some soft Cooper tires. They don't seem to wear as much as most other tires. I've seen the Cooper brand on all sorts of vehicles, and the tires hold up nicely for tens and tens of thousands of miles while still providing a good ride. One of the tires that came with my car was a Cooper, and it lasted through my rim change. Then, I sold it to a used tire place for about $8. That'* not bad at all.

thanks rad, I originally looked at cooper tires, and in looking around, I liked the high performance tires they have, but they were rated poorly for winter weather, and as I am right now getting a foot of snow, I need all seasons.
