Default Has anyone tried putting a 55w HID kit in a Foglight Houseing?

I was just curious. I have heard that u run the risk of melting the housing but ive also heard that HID'* run at a cooler temp than a regular halogen.
Since my Hi beams dont work and i already got a 35w, 6000k HID kit on the way for my lowbeams, i was just wondering if it was possible, that way i could just use my 55w 6000k foglights at night with my 35w 6000k lowbeams.
I hope this is possible! That would be so bright!

I don't remember where the thread is but XtremeRevolution disproved the whole heat issue with the 55W ballasts. So you'd be fine, just remember to not turn them on when there'* oncoming traffic lol

55w fogs will be a different color than the same shade on a 35w set. I would have done it the other way, 55 lows and 35 fogs.

yea but i wouldnt be able to turn off the 55watters if i put em in my Low beams.. I will be using my fogs as high beams, but itll be extra bright because my 35w low beams will stay on also. Yes with the 55w kit the color gets washed out so i would have to get the 8000k'* thanks for reminding me

Be careful though. Some states (if not most) have laws about doing mods with factory lighting.
