Default Well...crap.

Heard back from Dennis Autopoint, where I took my car after the motor went south the other day. Turns out that as they were moving my Bonnie in from the storage area to the garage, the motor seized up completely. They said it looks like the #3&4 bearings seized. SO, it appears that any argument that the car is OK is completely moot.
The warrantee company is sending an adjuster down Wednesday to look at the motor, though I don't see the point(IT'* DEAD). And the service rep from Dennis told me that the warrantee co. said something about a used motor. NO DAMN WAY. I'll pay the difference if I have to, but the only motor going in MY baby is a GM re-manufacture. PERIOD.
Anyway, I should have the new motor in her by the end of next week(knock wood)

Wow, that really sucks. Good luck and I hope you get your car fixed soon. I hate to be without my car.

OK this would normally touch off my well developed suspicious nature (paranoia),
However, the engine was already all but dead, and it truly was a testament to the 3800 that it made it as far as it did. Remember that the car was at ZERO oil-pressure at idle when I brought it to them. They said that the #3-4 bearings seized and I have no problem believing it. Besides, the motor was totally f*cked even before it siezed, the bearings were spun and knocking like a drum roll on an anvil.

They still shouldn't have driven it if they knew that, and could've made a repair possible.

Sorry to hear this - I know just how you feel - believe me. But, like Merlin said, at least you have some warranty. Myself, I went for a brand new GM motor, no warranty (ouch.)
