Default Free Scanning/Datalog for 95 Vin1 cars...

I'm sure this had to have been brought up before. I searched through the archives and found nothing. Well i'm runnng my L67 Series 2 powered fiero off of an OBD1 Vin1 PCM. I tried to see if anyone else had files to share, but didn't have any luck. I decided to take the time and write it up myself. Its not pefected yet, but i'm at the point where its atleast usable. I've decided i'll share the definition file if anyone wants it, and they can then customize it to their needs. It isn't 100% ideal, but its a good baseline for anyone interested.

The software i'm using is TunerPro RT, which has a free trial period and is definatly worth buying. Its only $30 so if you like it, support it.

Next you'll need a cable. You can build them yourself or buy one.
Cable schematics can be found at
http://www.techedge.com.au/vehicle/aldl8192/8192hw.htm

Or you can buy them cheaply from
http://mastach.com/

I use a Mastach cable because its cheap, and works great for me.

Lastly you'll need to either create the definition file or email me and i'd be happy to share what I have so far. Keep in mind that I have a 5speed so I left the tranny parameters out. These can be added quickly and easily.

Here are some screen shots of how I chose my layout. You can customize the order anyway you want.

Sorry if this has been posted widely on another page, or in a FAQ or such, but I'm not really familiar with the bonneville community and had a hard time finding it.

This has been posted and attempted earlier (a couple years ago?) but I don't recall whether it actually worked out or not. I'm intrigued. I may try this myself on my 95. I think I already have a cable for it. One I bought to modify to work with my Actron, that I no longer need.

It would benefit me more to make this work with the 93 though.

I datalogged my drive to class this morning (about 600 captures, its only across campus) and everything seems to be working fine. I added a few more lines of code so that the engine RPM is next to the desired idle, and in a few other places.

I'm not sure how different the 93 is, but I might be able to look into putting together the definition file if you're interested. I would probably organize it with separators like the one I've done, just using your data stream instead.

I created one for the 93. It isn't complete, and I can't verify it, but I can send it to you if you want to try it out and finish the changes where needed once tested.
