The 3.8 for the F-Bodies are set up for RWD. If I'm not mistaken, there are a few other tiny changes to the engine as well. The transmission is a 4L60, and it can have a manual.

The lower part of the engine, that hooks up the tranny is different, and some accessories are in different places.

Yup a diffrent block casting.... Really the same engine internally, but the F Body 3800 had the engine mounting holes on the side of the block so it can be attached to a RWD platform... Not too much diffrence... But if I was going to tinker or change something in a FWD Bonneville I'd look for a FWD 3800, it would make things easier...
Don't give me ideas!!!!

Take a block form a rwd 3800.... tranny, rear end....my engine... Or maybe an L67....

ummm...if you put a M112 on a Series III 3800 you would be making a bit more than 260hp. The Series III makes that with the stock M90.
