Default 2000+ Remote Turn on RAP Relay Tap Question

Lets start here.. Ok I finished doing an install of two rockford fosgate HE2 10" Subs, Single Boxes, Rockford Fosgate 1400 Watt Max (I believe its a Punch 700) that I bought from my cousin for $300 (quite a steal !) But anyways in finding a fuse or something to tap into that came on with the radio and other accessorys that come on when the key is in the ACC or ON position or when relying on the Retained Accessory Power Feature I stumbled upon the fact that all the fuses are ALWAYS HOT(well all that i tested, almost all of the fuses under the backseat), didnt try SRS (obviously!) So I eventually tried tapping into the RAP (retained accessory power) MiniRelay. It worked and the amp comes on with the IGN in the acc or on position and it stays on until the RAP feature times out or gets cancelled by an open door. Okay, to get to the point is it safe that I tap into this relay. This morning on my way to work my instrument panel did not function 100%, the tach, speedo, turn signals (completely didnt work). None of this worked plus the DIC wouldnt function and it kept dinging and saying calibrate compass (VERY Annoying). So i quickly pulled into work and shut off the car, pulled the back seat, opened the fuse box and on the second visual scan of the fuse i saw that the "IGN 1" 10A fuse was burnt, could this have been from me testing it with a multimeter or tapping into the RAP Relay ( i did for a minute or so actually tap into the fuse itself with the amp turn on. So what i am trying to find out is if its safe for me to tap into the RAP Relay and was the burnout of the fuse just because i was testing and tapping into it with the amp turn on. Thank, sorry for the long explanation/question. J Ritthaler

Also does having subs in the back screw up the compass function.

Default

for a amp turn on use the cigarrette lighter, and your calibrate compass is because the magnet of the subs throw off the compass

Default Compass Problem Partially Solved

well after i fixed the fuse the CALIBRATE COMPASS message went away and hasn't came back even when the subs were directly below the sensor. Hmm?
