Just another day in the shop
A knock at the door, it'* the mail man. He'* holding a box and seems to be grunting a bit. Way to over exert the mail man Bill.
Ohh, stuff
Ohhhh, engine stuff.
Jethrow shows up right on time to get his LIM gaskets replaced.
No one gets off working here.
While I'm working on the gaskets, jethrow is changing the supercharger oil. Ya, I could smell it.
Getting it all put back together.
Torquing the supercharger back down.
Like the hood brace? Better then having it fall on my head.
2 and a half hours later, he'* on his way.
Hmm, he has no record of the gaskets being replaced. But these are plastic framed gaskets and running Dex-cool. And I see no sign of failure. Car has just over 90k miles.

I'd say they look pretty good for 90k regardless of antifreeze. I keep my Dex, TY. I rather change it once awhile rather than worrying if I get it all out and create curdling.

When cold just open the radiator cap and look, top off with water if it low and then add some to the fill bottle. We filled the coolant at the LIM/thermostat hole before putting the thermostat in. So there should be little to no air in the system.

I've seen that same thing with the gaskets before.
The typical is they are bowed and look like they were in need of replacement. Once in a while you get a set of them from 2000+ that didn't bow or show real signs of having issues.
This reminds me that we know GM was revising their gaskets. And at the same time, most of us with Pre2000'* were replacing with FelPro. Probably the original design for GM. GM was revising gaskets...Fel Pro wasn't.
Not too many of us ever took notice because they looked very similar and had a much different price tag from a dealer.
That box was originally 33lbs.... when you got it..it was down to 23lbs so I could fit the ICM harness in.

there'* no guarantee though. And ... most likely that car ran Dex for quite a while, which helps to prove out it'* not the coolant, but temp etc that'* happening or a mix of all.
