Default Series 2 NA vs. Series 1 NA

The ser 2 NA is Much quiker than the ser1 NA off the line. My old 93' Olds with 2.84 gearing would get smoked by the 05' LeSabre with an even taller 2.83 gearing. I thought the ser 1 NA had more guts being the ones on here with intake and exaust run high 15'*. What gives?

The Series II makes more HP and slightly more torque. The Series I makes it'* power at a lower RPM range, but the Series II revs higher, which gives it an overall advantage.

60' times should be generally better on the L27 vs L36, but the 1/8 and on are purely in the L36 hands. That better 60' time to the L27 is purely a function of the lower-down torque delivery (in rpms).

Even with my mods, a stock GTP will start to catch me and run me down starting at about 80mph, on up to his speed limiter ( ) where I OWN him up until an unpublished but widely known number in the triple digits.

Pdad and 2000SilverBullet both fell victim to my 60' times last summer, but both ran me down from the 1/8 to 1/4.

lol so true.

I am a slave to low end torque though, probably why I will most likely stick with a s1.

Starting out with a 454/TH400 drivetrain is NOT a good first car ROFL. 3500RPM is getting close to redline lol.

In terms of modifying, if the L27 had as big of a market as the L36 i doubt there would be that much of a difference.
If i remember right, the aussie guys have been able to go pretty fast with the holden version of the L27.

That gear ratio difference means nothing.. But some other things are weight and center of gravity, the transmission and Torque converter (this is a big one).

Don't underestimate the S2. Those make plenty of low end power.

If anything i'd give up low end power for upper RPM punch. You only hit the Low RPM'* once in a straight line race...

My Series 1 Bonne beat a Regal LS with the L36....only went up to 65-70 though. I like how the L36 shifts though, pretty comparable to my Cutlass, nice and high (5500+). I drove my cousin'* LeSabre and I swear it shifted to 2nd at almost 50mph.
