Default Would buy a chevrolet malibu again

Hello,
I am a new member and am asking for your experienced comments on purchasing a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu 1LS, 4 cylinder, automatic. I would like to know your pros and cons on this car, please.I want to keep the car for a long time and I want to make a smart purchase. I have not bought a new or used car in many years and need your help.

Is it a good car in general?

I am curious if the car does have good resale value?

Comment from owners would be appreciated, but no dealers or salespeople, please.

Thank you,
Georgeann

never owned a malibu but others at my house have, we had 2 and the third one is on its way soon for my aunt.
overall the Mali was a great car, only reason this is her third because she keeps upgrading or going out of the country of 2 years and shes doesnt wanna keep it parked. nice thing about them also they are great when it comes to maintenance almost anyone can fix them if they go wrong and finding parts is very easy.

as for the resale value, nothin keep its value when its new, i strongly and highly recommend buying a used 2010 or even 2011 you can find some pretty good deals out there, someone else lost their money for buying it brand new, and you still have many many years and miles of warranty.

again never owned one myself, but dealt with many of them over the years
just my $0.02

Good luck on your purchase and welcome to GMForum!

agree on the not new thing, i got my 03 monte in 04 for 15k instead of the 22k they wanted new, ill never buy new again i dont think.
as far as the malibu itself i only know one person who has one, they have had it for about a year with no issues.

They look very nice, it looks like the new Malibus avoided the GM cost cutting hammer.

hi,

It has been a while since I was on here and do not remember how to start a thread.

I purchased a 04 Malibu (new style) and there is no remotes for the keyless entry so I looked on the rpo codes and it does not sa auo so I called the dealership and they were not sure if the tech 2 programmer could change the BCM to allow the programing due to all of the BCM'* for this car are the same so I was hoping someone could tell me before I purchase a remote?

Also what numbers should the remote have on the back?

Your help would be awesome?

Thanks ,
Joe
