im going to have this as my backup dash incase mine doesnt turn out. will it work? just asking if the 96-99 will work in the 95.....

From what I see in my parts book, No. My books say my 94 cluster won't even work for ya. But for $20, Why not use it to practice technique?

Call a local GM Dealer and ask. also, I don't see why it wouldn't work. they look identical and doubt they changed the wiring in the two years..

You are going to have different pin-outs most likely and there is also the possability that the connections are different altogether. Not a bad price though. Would be another $30-100 to buy from the salvage yard.

wrong..

i just got it, connectors looked the same, plugged er in...and TAA DAA....it works, well the boost gauge, temp gauge, oil gauge and tach all work....

then i realized the speedo and fuel dont work

it this a problem with tthe dash, or cuz its the wrong year?

i have to go to work, but ill email the seller later

I bet I was only half wrong. I'm betting the speedo and fuel guage have switched spots for the pinouts. It is from a OBDII vehicle, and you have the OBDI.5 so no doubt there are some wiring changes.
Or else there could be something with where the wiring goes, and possibly that component is not part of your OBDI.5 setup.
I'm half asleep now, so if you don't understand -well zzzzzz.
