Default Terrorist Attack on Websites:

Last night while trying to reply to a thread on another forum I visited a lot while I had my Caprice, I learned the site was hacked by some hacker/terrorists, who have nothing better to do than to screw with us.

This morning I learned they destroyed enough info to make the site.. no more..

I hope this never happens here, but for those on the other forum, it'* a very sad day.

http://www.zone-h.com/defacements/fi...0Devils%20Crew is a site that archives sites that have been attacked, and those who attacked it. I think they are scumbags for participating, and they also claim to not be involved, but rather, they claim to only be an archive..

If you click the link, anything on the list that says 4adrive and anything with dr2000 would be sites that they destroyed last night, that all belong to the same guy.

dr2000 is a great guy who has done a lot to help the folks on the forums, and this is the thanks he gets.

click the "mirror" next to the listings, and you'll see the ignorant message we all saw when trying to visit the site.

I really have no suggestion at this time, except for us all to be aware that this is closer to home than we expect.

Imagine the information here, and all the time and dedicated help that has gone into this site, and all the people involved... now imagine some scum destroys all of this on us, and leaves a redirect to a hateful message to americans..

I'm at a loss of thought at this point, and don't know what to think. I have no idea if there is a way to manually archive this forum, maybe on a weekly basis, so if this was ever to happen... maybe somewhere, someone will have everything saved, up to a week or less... I'm just curious if there is a way to protect us, and our beloved forums, before this hits us

Just a heads-up to us all...

GOD BLESS AMERICA !!!

proud american, Sam

I do know that there have been hackers trying to get BC in the past. There are frequent backups made of all the data o nthe site. If something were to happen we would only lose a few days at most, not the entire site.

I don't think those are terrorists.

But it'* something we are very well aware of here. We have the latest software patches, as well as multiple backups like previously stated. No doubt things can still happen, but we do the best to prevent the worst from happening.

We've been hit before. We do quite well under pressure, and respond swiftly. Our server is very well protected, too. Lots of hardware and software protection, and backups just in case.
