Marking threads as fixed
While messing with Exchange 2010 at work, I noticed it lets you put a check mark next to email threads to flag them as complete. And that got me thinking: is there a similar plugin for vBulletin?
Thread starters could mark their threads as solved if they figured out what the issue was and how to fix it. Why is that important?
Not sure what the admins have on their plate right now, but it might be worth looking into.

- People searching in the future could see that a particular problem thread ended in success.
- If marking a thread as "fixed" could also lock it, it would keep newcomers from posting in a thread three years after the last post. And it'd keep people from yelling at them for re-opening a dead thread, which while a violation of forum decency, might scare the newcomer off.

Rick doesn't have nor knows is such exists for vB. Look around for an open source one for vB. I check myself when I have time.

Meh, an easy button written into code would still have to have human verification when something gets fixed and I dont see it being kept up by the OP'* . Kick this to Mods, maybe someone would take this on as a side thing. Who wants to be the "Fixed" Mod.
If a stable vB plugin is found and linked to me, I'm all ears. I mean, fixed button fingers.

VB hack or not, a mod will still need to change it due to the way permissions are set up in the ACP, If you can not edit you can not change it to fixed !!
To save the time and $$$ mods monitoring threads could always just add **Fixed** to the Thread title

For starters, we could include "Send a PM to any mod to have him/her close a thread for you," in the Site Rules + Policies thread. Or into one of the threads in the Intro section. Mods already get PM'd to edit posts, so this seems to me like just a minor addition.
