Default Login times out while posting, loses post

Whenever I type a long detailed post, the login times out while I am typing. Not only does this not post what I wrote, but it also erases it, and I have to type the whole thing in again.

The timeout period is too short, or it should be able to know that I am actively typing, rather than inactive. I also don't have time to poofread.

It also loses the next post, because it says something about the page being older than my login. Again, it erases what I typed.

Alternatively, could some notification and way to log in again without losing the post be provided?

I have never seen this issue, and I have been known for a 15 minute post. Because I am paranoid about this kind of thing however, I usually copy the post before I post it. Worst case scenario, I have to paste it and post again.

I second the question, which browser do you use?

It has happened to me a few times when I leave a page open, get distracted, then come back and get long winded. There is a way around it. When it comes up as "timed out" hit the back button and your post is still there. Now hit "go advanced" and in the following page use the second larger login box below the normal one.
