Default Detailing and Appearance Sticky

I think there should be a sticky at the top of detailing and appearance comprehensively covering automotive detailing, including the special different ways to clean certain things on our cars. I suggest a list of the BEST products for different things, such as car wash, polish, clay bar, wax, sealer, tire shine, wheel cleaner, glass cleaner, leather cleaner, leather protectant, plastic color restorer, scratch remover, rubber protectant, and how to'* on cleaning certain parts of the car, what to do, what not to do.

all items should have listed with them pros and cons, where they are best, what they lack such as certain tire shine turning tires brown, that type of thing.

We have MANY automotive detailing experts in this club, yet have no one sticky for really getting these things looking there best, the RIGHT way.

Another thing might be including information on how often you should do certain things, such as wax, every month? 2 months?

or how about waxing technique...some people say to prevent swirls, rub wax and polish into the paint in a longitudinal motion.

basically busting the detailing myths!

Probably need a thread compiling every bit of information possible and then organizing it all into one informational sticky.

Its always good to have a reference guide.

The trouble with this is that everyone has their opinion on detailing. And as we know opinions are like a$$ holes, we all have them and they are all different.

There are tons of "right" ways to detail a car. Product selection is widely based on what is on the shelf at a store for the majority of the population. Also, most people are not willing to spend the money to buy the likely suggested detailing supplies.

something on the process might be good, like how to wax and polish a car just in general, so people can get an idea on the steps of what to do....

well we can still suggest on how to do it RIGHT. and if they don't listen to the advice on recommended products, then thats their fault.

and how about ONE way be decided on. you know...i mean there can't be THAT many different ways to do it...

Wash
Clay
Polish
Wax
Seal

Seems simple enough. i mean regardless of people all having their own opinions....its better than having to explain it again every time someone asks....

someone asks, you link em. simple.
