Time for a change ????
i have been thinking? why is it that we have mods that are inactive OR the are on rarely??. Im not going to mention names because that is wrong and im not goin g to call anyone oput. But I think that we need ACTIVE members to take the load off of Bill and Don, and all other Admin. I know that these guys so a great deal behind the scenes. I would love to help out as a mod......but I dont get any respect here :?

I see where your coming from, to the point that we dont see postings like in performance, to the lounge to audio. Its always nice to see a mod partake in a discussion, at least to let the newbies realize that there here for help and what not. Im sure all of them do stuff behind the scenes though.

WOW. I go away for a few minutes and BAM!
Ummm...nobody has anything against you at all that I know of, and I can speak well to that because I know how the selection process for COTM works, and I never see any favoritism towards anyone, nor any discrimination towards anyone. There are alot of cars here, and some criteria. Merlin does a very good job trying to 'balance' the COTM candidates by generation/trim, etc. It'* not an easy job.
As far as Moderators are concerned, that'* really up to Don and I. We're the only two people that can watch behind the scenes. We know what the workload is, and when we need help. We do have one Moderator in the process of retiring from those duties due to personal choice (life/schedule changes), and will be replacing that one position in the near future. The Moderator PICKING itself is actually done by the whole group. Each Moderator gets a turn, but comes up with a short list, that gets trimmed down through debate. Simply making the original list is quite a compliment to any member here, although you'll never know if you were one of them.

I have been a member here for about a year and a half longer than you, and have not ONCE complained about ranking, I really don't feel that post count has ANYTHING to do with it. We have seen in the past, and I know of one in the present that has a high post count but they get that way by not always respond with anything helpful, and don't necessarily know what they are talking about. I have not seen my car in COTM either, and I don't think that the COTM should have to be a car that is modded or done up, it could be just plain stock and still be worthy.
Like they said about how the coin is tossed, that is life. I don't expect anyone to do anything for me no matter what I do for them.
