I am perposing that we add a "Name" feild to the area under the Screen name (like "Location") obviously it would be 100% optional to fill out like your location is.

the reason i think this would be good is because half the time people refure to others by there real name and not there screen name, but most others have NFC who there talking to or about.

and often when people know your name they will show you more repect because you less of a stranger to them, i dont know...maybe thats just me?

Actually, I have seen it quite a bit on forums, and it is good to have for things like meets or phone calls.

Keep in mind that for changes like this, we're talking code or a phpBB mod. That may take time, assuming Jeff likes the idea.

As a rule, the 3 Admins do not make major changes to the layout or appearance of the forum as seen by the public. We stick to the format Jeff intended.

Seems kind of unneccessary. It'* easy enough to throw it in your Sig.

hmm. maybe... but somehow i think it would look out of place over on the left there. your SIGNATURE area was originally intended to yield your name correct?

i just wish more people would do that, its much easier to refer to people and coverse with them when you can refer to them by name. we could all be...on a ...first name basis.

maybe a spinoff of this suggestion...maybe on the profile update page, there could be a small paragraph giving ideas on what sort of format the signature box should be in. explaining about the 600x150 sig size, suggesting you provide your name etc. I see it to be that there wouldn't be as many sig violations that way, and names would be abundant, and we would discover there are even MORE Johns around

this is why i suggested it, not everyones sigs has a layout that can accomidate having there name there, and its just more info that takes up space and limits things like a mod list (see my sig for example)
