COTM Poll - Decisions Decisions
It was suggested to me by our resident Cactus lover, Echo SSEi that the poll should be made private - IE you don't find out who won until its over. I tend to agree with this because it makes the announcement of the winner sort of moot.
I'm pretty sure that the PHP BB Poll mod can't do this, though I haven't played with it in many versions so I might be wrong.
Assuming I'm right, I can very easily set up a polling system on one of my servers using crystal reports or some other software. Hell I'll just have one of my code monkeys code something up for me or do it myself if needed.
Sound off:
Is this something important to you? Leave things the way they are? Do you mind the actual voting occuring on another server?

I think that is a great idea. I know you have probably thought of this, but make sure whatever you choose limits an IP to one vote per poll. Or we can look for a PHPBB mod to do that. Overall, I like it.

hhmmm.... Frankly dosen't really matter to me. No offense, but is more fair to all members to see the progress and that the vote'* are all counted. (this is in NO OFFENSE to you Mortel, I know you wouldn't do this, but I try to anticipate what might happen if we went that way )

No offense is taken John.. I understand the concern completely. The point you raised is precisely one of the reasons I'm putting it out for open discussion.

hide polls result till times expired...perfect I think. Can be set, so its not on all polls.

That would be the best option. However if for whatever reason it can't be implemented, I have a backup plan which can be moderated by the staff if neccesary.
