Brad...winter is coming. Doubt you will be running warm enough to need a 180 in the winter.

Too bad you aren't closer, I'd let you borrow the puller.

That'* alright, I drive to Battle Creek almost every weekend and it'* only 45 minutes from Grand Rapids so I am just going to drive over to intense and have them do it for me. Thanks for the offer though. I don't think I will get the t-stat now either. I will just wait until spring when it starts to really warm up. Thanks, Brad

In my opinion, a 180 stat is a $10 part that takes 5 minutes to install and protects your engine just a little more. Yes it is true the cooling fans won't kick on till 195 due to stock PCM settings, but anything you can do in the meantime to help keep your engine as cool as possible is going to be a good thing.

Make sure when you get the pulley, you get the MP system when you get one. Makes it easier to change them around. Use a gatorback belt with the pulley. They seem to work better than the oem pulley IMO

50 ft-lbs of torque increase can be expected after the 3.4 pulley install.

Major difference

Did they change this from the 92-99 settings of 216 and 225 for the 00+ models?

No that is still correct for 00 models.
A PCM upgrade will change the fan turn on temp settings.

I have mine fooled right now. The gauge reads 185 but the actual temp is 160 and the low speed fan is on all the time and stays on for 2-3 min after engine off.

So wait a minute... I put in a 180 tstat on my 94 N/A and the guage is reading 180 (as opposed to the 195 I was getting before) when I'm not stuck in traffic. Are you guys telling me it'* not really 180?

Aaron, totally different situation. If your gauge reads the 180 that you have in there for a tstat then you are all set.

ps.. you aren't supercharged either.
