Default Over-Riding The Blow Off Valve On A L67

On the ALCAN, 98% of the time, Premo is not available; only 87 , so I want to manually leave the blow-off valve fully open for the trip to WCBF. I don't want to damage anything, just a temp setup that I can use on the way down theer and back.

Any suggestions would be great.

We don't have a blow-off. We have an internall bypass. It doesn't vent unused boost to the outside, but rather back into the LIM before compression.

Your performance and fuel mileage will suffer greatly if you do this on the drive. Can't get higher octane? Don't allow the boost to go over about 5 psi.

Toluene is over $12 a gallon. It'* cheaper to buy better fuel or keep your foot out of it.

When better fuel isn't available.. it might be a viable solution for the trip.

Most over-the-counter octane boosters raise the octane by one point. POINT ONE. From 87 to 87.1, which is a ridiculous expense for next to nothing. It'* cheaper to buy the better gas or stay out of the boost.

15 gallons of 87 octane pump gas and 2 gallons of Toluene will net 91 octane. So it'* going to be almost $30 for the Toluene alone, plus around $40 for the fuel? Wow. I think I'd rather just tell myself to limit boost to 5psi by foot-regulation.
