Hello everyone, I am knew here, absolutly a great forum.
Anyway, I'll get to my problem,
It all began about a month ago, I started up my 1992 SSEi and noticed a faint squeking/chirping from under the hood, it didn't do it all the time, but now it is. After further investigation I believe it is the bearing in the snout of the charger. I can squirt a quick mist of WD-40 behind the pully and it will go away for about 5 seconds then come back. I changed the oil in it (HOLY $#@*) that stuff freaking reaked, anyway the squeak/chirp is still there. The guy at the Pontiac dealer said I can't buy replacement parts for the charger I have to buy the whole damn thing $2,300
NOT AN OPTION. So my question to you guys/gals is, is there replacement parts out there for my super, and is it hard to do, is there any tricks to do it? I am fairly competant when it comes to working on cars just haven't ever tackled a supercharger...YET
Any reply would be absolutly tremendous
