I have an 00 SSEi and I was wondering how often you should have the supercharger oil changed. Mine have 200,000 + miles on it and has never been changed.

200K miles? Wow, I would change it as soon as possible. Although GM doesn't specify when to change it, for as little time and money as it is, the piece of mind is well worth it. GM does say to check it, i think, at 30K or 50K miles. For under $20, many of us change it annually it not more often.

Oh....and welcome to the club.

Default Wow!

200,000 miles?!?! I was worried about 100,000 on mine when I bought it two weeks ago! I guess that 3800 really does go forever. Although, I would put changing that oil pretty high on my "to do list" of maint. items. You might wanna also check your incabin air filer located on the passenger-side windshield bottom, mine had never been changed apparently.

Per the FSM, GM says the level should be checked every 30K miles. They don't suggest a change interval and have no provisions on the SC for a drain.

An old sprayer bottle does a great job of reaching in and getting the job done.

My SC oil was black after 105,000 miles. It probably was never changed. It doesn't hurt to change it every year/twice a year. The oil is pretty cheap.

Bnuge942, since yours has not been changed, I'd flush it instead of just emptying and refilling. Basically empty, refill, start the car and let run for a minute or so, empty again, and refill once more. Full instructions are in techinfo as well as how many bottles of oil you'll need for your 2000.

bnuge, please start another topic. This is the Forced Induction section. We don't discuss cabin air filters here, and this is someone else'* topic about supercharger oil.

I went ahead and changed mine at 126k as soon as I got the car, most owners never change or even look at it, so def. change yours ASAP. The oil is quite cheap, but its kinda hard to find, at least for me. Check out the link, thats where i got mine.
