Default Super charger problems

Well i have done everything dealer mechanics and what not they can't figure it out for some stupid reason but occasionally my supercharger won't work to the fullest the boost gauge just kinda barley goes past 0 floored after the engine hits about 200 degrees and it always runs about that hot don't know if thats normal anyways sometimes it will work it goes all the way to the +10 on the gauge and u notice a ton of performance you don't get to see unless the car has been on for less then 5 mins regardless any ideas what this could be sometimes it even works after 200 degrees so i dunno but the dealership wants a new super charger and i don't have $1800 to do that right now and im missing out on my performance so any help would be great thanks

If your SC gives good boost under NORMAL conditions, but not others, there'* nothing wrong with the SC. Sounds like a boost control solonoid (a $30 part) to me, but lets troubleshoot this some more.

Take the belt off. Do you feel any slack when you turn the pulley back and forth? How hard is it to turn the pulley by hand? When the car is cool, what'* the highest boost you see on the gauge? How does it SOUND?

Well ireplaced the belt recently and in that time my friend suggested i do the same thing it kinda rough tot turn not to rough tho so i dunno when i bout the car it was fine then the car got flooded once as in a river flood shortly after that it stopped working ( forgot to mention the flooding oops ) regardless i don't think its where the belt is im kinda car illiterate sorry heh im thinking along with some of my friends that it may be a sensor seeing as it was flooded the question is which sensor, and where would it be located at ? i appreciate the response i don't know much about cars im more of a computer geek :( either way im sure i could get it with a lil instruction im sure i can find a manual about my car some where on the net so any ideas now ? any help is appreciated

o btw when i start the car the boost will work for the first 5-10 mins once that temp gauge gets real close to 200 it stops regardless floored or not it just got past 0 to that first line there im guessing thats prolly 2 or so positive boost and thats when its floored about half way down on the accel. and it stays right at 0 just thought u might wanna know

Well im guessing it is the boost control solonoid and i think its pretty good logic so here we go .. after reading a bit of these forums i noticed i had no idea what all these terms where still don't but i came across an intresting post by someone named jeff who is now my hero ... well he talked about bypassing the boost control solonoid and well i thought hey if i bypass it and the SC works then it has to be the solonoid so i went outside to my car it being 2:30 am here and bypassed it as he talked about and went for a test drive and sure enough there was that nice power i had missed for a while now ... now im not saying this is a permanent fix i ordered one of the solonoids off gm directs site as was mentioned in another post i read and it should be arriveing soon i just figured i might have some fun with the quick fix till it gets here

btw im hopeing this won't hurt my car at all lol if it does then im in trouble here but yanno u win some u lose some if this is a bad idea someone plz tell me and i will just wait for the part

Do you have a "service engine soon" light on?

Ya there is still an SES light that flashes on and off every once and a while now the only other thing i can't figure out is why the traction control keeps turning off about the same time as the super charger would turn off
