Default '94 (M62) Supercharger rebuild instructions?

Ok, so i have my ZZPerf. coupler, supercharger oil, and RTV gasket tube, but i can't find the instructions on how to remove the nose. I know many people here recommend removing the entire supercharger, but i thought awhile back i saw a post (with much-appreciated pictures) explaining a step-by-step removal of the nose only.

If that post was only in my imagination, can someone direct me to a link with instructions for the SC removal on a '94? I searched techinfo but didn't see it there. Also which gaskets do i need? Would the average partsman at the dealer know what they are and have them? Thanks all, happy 2006! :P

I'll type fast, as I'm on the way out the door.

It'll take you 3 times longer to remove the Accessory bracket than it will to remove the SC, and you want the SC off anyway for easier access to the TB for cleaning, so get a gasket now.

The removal is straightforward, but you'll have to double-nut the stud through the alternator bracket into the nosedrive for removal (jamb another nut up against the one on there after you loosen it slightly, and using two wrenches, tighten the two nuts together on the stud, then use the back nut to loosen the stud for removal).

Get a fuel injector o-ring kit as well. You'll need it. Tighten the SC bolts to LIM at 18ft/lbs during reassembly.

These pages for reference, it'* an M90, but virtually identical in every other way:

You'l need:
TB gasket
SC outlet gasket
2 yellow coolant o-rings
fuel injector o-ring kit
1 bottle of SC oil (get a spare)
red gasket maker
TB cleaner

I get all parts from the dealer. Prices are good.

To elaborate on Willwrens post.

I'm sure there are pics of an M90 nose being pulled off. It'* quick and easy on the car. M62 is easier off the car.

Therefore the suggestion would be to pick up the
Intake gasket w/2 o rings (between supercharger and lower intake)
Throttle body gasket (clean well while off)
Injector o ring kit. (12 rings in all)
and a tube fo GM Red Gasket Maker (All RTV'* will breakdown and leak over time. It'* been thoroughly tested here)

Then you should be all set and off and running.

I think he wants to just remove the nose drive and leave the housing on the car.

Use the search feature and try a couple keyword searches and you should be able to find something.

Understood...
It is more time and labor intensive to keep the unit on the car and remove the nosedrive only than it is to remove the entire SC unit from the car.

On car: You need to loosen or remove the entire belt accessory bracket that contains coolant lines in it and deal with all the accessories.

Off car: Pull injector rail up and remove supercharger.

Quick tip: TB cleaner can strip the epoxy coating off SC rotors. Do not clean the SC inlet with TB cleaner while the rotors are in the case.

Actually..don't soak your rotors in TB cleaner.... and I wouldn't recommend using it on them in any way.

(And John that one got me...hurt me bad)

The one person that tried this (it'* posted here somewhere vaguely, no details) despite our advice and warnings, came back and posted "you were right".

Pull the SC.

Pulling the SC is kinda fun too, you get to really see how it all works and goes together...trust me, my top end is in many pieces..i did the couple as well, that nose cone fought with the rotor plate until MR.VICE came over to help heheheheh

I thought i had remembered hearing that it was easier to remove the supercharger. I'm fairly new at doing mechanical things myself- i've done water pumps and things of that sort but was a bit intimidated (to be honest) at dealing with the fuel system (release fuel pressure, remove fuel rail). Anyhow, i got everything on Will'* list ($68 including the gasket sealer and two bottles of the SC oil, gaskets...) and so i guess i'm prepared for removing the supercharger.

People on here make it sound pretty simple to remove the SC- just remove the fuel rail, etc. There are quite a few steps on Autozone'* walkthrough, but it looks like their main thing is being careful to label all the wires and cables. And heck, if it all falls apart i'm sure Will is happy to fly over to help, right? For a beer? Isn't that what moderators are for? heh heh.... (Just kidding Will, your help has been invaluable many times)
