That depends on what year you have. 92-93 2.2" minimum. 94/95 2.5" minimum. The ZZPerformance oversized idler is necessary for the 92/93, and suggested strongly for the 94/95. A custom intake will be of huge benefit. A smaller pulley won't like your stock airbox.

If you put your year/model, and mods in your signature, it'll help us out alot.

Moving to Forced Induction.

If your budget can't swing both the CAI and pulley/tool at the same time. You can gut your stock GM air box and make a pretty well breathing setup. You get the */C whine and you get the breath ability in about 20 min of work. Throw a K&N or Air Hog in for even better flow.

also try to find a way to induce more air in the intake like ram air setups

The Series 1 airbox can't be 'gutted'. There'* nothing to gut. Providing more air to it may help though. Perforate the front of the box behind the headlight. You're still not achieving good velocity, laminar flow though.

The difference is that the Series 1 doesn't need to be gutted. None of that crap in there at all. It'* really that simple.

HOWEVER.....the stock opening on our factory airboxes are NOT enough to allow the thirsty supercharger to breathe right, especially with a smaller pulley. And the accordian tube is costing you performance as well. Is your air cold? Yes. But it'* probably not enough.
