Default New here Just got a 95' SSEI need BPU'*

Hi All,
Just got a 95 SSEI with 138,000
50,000 on new trans
New Water pump
New Supercharger Relay (sounds weird?)
New Plugs and wires

I really like the car, good ride, decent power. What would be Some free mods, or some of the basic performance upgrades. From what I ahve read it seems to be free flowing exhaust, trans cooler, take out MAF screen and a Cold air kit, and possibly a pully. From what I can see under the hood I think I can fit a turbo under thier. Im thinking of using a 60-1 T4 turbo charger and a Supra intercooler I got laying around. The hardest part would be a sheet metal intake to replace the blower.

Also How much ower can the tranny hold? And how much power can the short block hold stock. Do the SSEI'* Have any head gasket blowing problems?

Sorry for all The Q'*... Thanks for any Help

your best bet would to talk to Ty(Speedguy) or visit his website http://www.domesticperformance.com/d...cPath=27_49_51. I think he was saying he is making a cutom upper intake. He also built a cutom turbo for our cars so he would be the best person to talkto about it.

Are you asking about horsepower wise or boost wise. Best bet for that is to checck out http://www.intense-racing.com/. They have some of the fastest 3.8 powerplant in the states. Click on "our turbo project". Also they got performance receipes for your car since you have an SSEi.

Don't go with a custom upper. Just gut the rotors out of the Eaton and use the housing as your intake.

No head gasket problems with the 3800'* at all. Turtle_sse is running an ungodly amount of boost on an L36 with no problems.

Moving to forced induction.....

Gutting the Blower sounds good. Good Idea. Is their an Intercooler under the blower like the 03' Cobras? I was going to go turbo and run 10 psi with a 60-1 T4 turbo. Its good for about 500HP...but its most efficent in the 300-400 HP Range. Also how may miles can the motors go in these cars? I know the 3.8 is really an awsome engine. The Motor in my SSEI looks almost identical to my friends Grnad National and I know they can run for a long time.

Also does Turtle_sse have a home page, or is their a good thread on here with his specs?

Thanks again,
Kyle

He hasn't, but they can take a beating, people consistently run them well past 150,000 and many have gonen to 200,000 with it being as strong as day one.

Your engine should see 200,000 if well maintained. There is no Sereies 1 Intercooler. You'll have to go custom, and the trans will go POOF. Plan on 100-150k miles, especially after bumping it up.

PM Turtle.....he checks in from time to time, but remember, he'* TOTALLY built, custom from the ground up including trans, and a standalone fuel management system. He was NOT supercharged to start with either.

Last I heard from him he was putting 455hp down at the wheels, or something like that.
