Default My bosst control cap is opened

the black plastic sphere thingy with the spring in it is opened and wont close but when the car is runinning it sloses but sometimes stay open. is that normal?

i tired to close the cap when it was off and it wont stay closed. i dont know too much to explain because i dont know what its for.

i tried lookiong it up in the chiltons but it doesnt show any Series II supercharged stuff. I described the piece already. its a black 2 piece with a sping inside it laying on the supercharger. i think its the boost control valve and the inside has an orange ring

You talking about the round black thing just under the red thing in that pic? It should not be cracked open. Get a new bypass valve actuator.

thanx. i didnt know it was broken. i noticed that i was trying to do the slelnoid adjustment that the cap was up and the car was off, when i cut the car on, the cap sucked in and when i revved the car the cap would close and then would be have opend then it would close again when i revved the motor again

Steve, that actuator is SUPPOSED to change with engine RPM'*. You're not being very descriptive here. Please take a picture of the part in the car, and a closup of the damage.

Don't replace anything on that car until you know what it'* called, what it does, and how to troubleshoot it. We could be thinking about two different parts right now. And you're going to blow alot of money on this car.
