Default Replace M62 with M90 or M112

Hey guys, for reasons beyond my control, I will most likely be unable to change my coupler...however I will be getting a new Supercharger at no cost to myself.

So...

Is there any reasonably cheap/easy way to replace the M62 with an M90 or even an M112?

Can even be done?

It CAN be done, but it won't be reasonably cheap or easy. You'd might as well stick with the M62.

Why can't you change the coupler?

A 112 would be too big and produce too much boost for your engine/trans. I'm sure you could do it, with a lot of "buts" though.

If you were gonna change the blower, I would go with an M90. The M112 is too big for what you are looking for IMO. It wouldn't really be that hard. All you would really have to do is fab up an intake manifold that the M90 could bolt to, and then make an adapter plate so your TB will bolt to the M90 (that way you don't have to mess with changing sensors and whatnot). But this would obviously be more work and cost more than replacing your M62, although it would give a decent power gain.

Is it possible? Yes - but then again anything is. . . . .

Both the M90 and 112 are too wide to fit between the injectors on a Series 1. You could get a M90 to work but for the amount of fabrication needed the gains would not be worth it.

Doc Jay is running an M62, and trust me if ANYONE would do an M90 it would be that guy.....were talking alot more than just fabbing up an LIM and a TB adaptor, anybody measured the snout length on an M62 vs an M90....I happen to know someone who has both and M62 and an M90 and the snout lengths are no where near the same. This would cause the supercharger pulley to be probably 3-4 inches past where the old one was, which I guess you could fab up a custom crank pulley with a 3rd run of ribs for another belt and then figure out how to run a dummy pulley in place of the original SC pulley so the other accesorys on the same drive as the original SC would have the proper routing......anyone else think this is too much work and money?.....oh then theres the custom alternator bracket that would require drilling into the case of the M90 to mount the bracket to it so the alternator didnt eat belts, hmmm what else...MY HEAD HURTS, good night everybody!

Different snouts are available, but the TB would be wrong, requiring an AFC, brackets would change, and on and on......

Far too expensive for the minimal gain in performance.

Why are people so eagor to do away with the M62? Yes the M90 is bigger and can flow more but really. . . . .

I mean what kind of times are the Series 2 W-Body guys running with stock cam, stock heads, stock rockers, No IC, stock SC, stock TB? And then factor in that a bonne will run a .5-1 sec. slower in the 1/4 mile and compare them?

Unless you have a huge cam and massive P&P creating some crazy flow I don't think that the M62 is going to be the week link.

Anyways the M62 whine is something most M90 users covet!
