Default @$!!#@! */C belt - venting

I've never had this much of a problem changing belts before. I'm not sure if I have the right pulley or not. I got a replacement grooved idler pulley from Advance Auto (from what happened in this thread - http://www.bonnevilleclub.com/forum/...ic.php?t=33400 ) .A 72" belt just wasn't close to fitting on(which is what the compter showed would fit). I finally got a 73" belt on, but the clearence was too close of both the belts where it feeds inbetween the pulley and engine mount. Once I started it up, it started touching and jumped off the harmonic blanacer underneath the main serpentine belt, now I need one of those too . I'm at the point now where I'm just taking it somewhere to get it done, let someone else deal with it.

How big is the grooved pulley supposed to be thats on the other end of the belt tensioner pulley.

On a side note , the Haynes manual is worthless for this car. The owners manual has more info on the car then Haynes.

I'm gonna say you got a pulley that is too large, judging by the fact that the "stock" size belt didn't fit. Anyone with a Series II measure theirs?
