Hi, I have a 96 Bonneville SSEI . The supercharger that is on my car has been rattling ever since I got the car. I replaced the coupler and changed the oil and it still has the rattling. I bought another supercharger off ebay that was supposedly rebuilt. I got my supercharger off yesterday, and when I was ready to do the swap, I noticed that the new Supercharger is slightly different. The only difference I can see is that my old Supercharger has a port for a pressure or vacuum line on the right side near the back. There is a metal port with 3 different lines coming from it about 3/4 to 1 inch in diameter. The new supercharger is shaped exactly like the old one but the port is not drilled out. I am not sure what to do, or if I can port this off of the supercharger somewhere else.I Am assuming this port services the boost gauge and maybe a sensor or two.The new supercharger must be from a different year Bonneville. Has anyone else run into this problem or know what can be done to use the new supercharger? I could take the new supercharger somewhere to get the port drilled out, but I am not sure if it goes into the same air jacket as the old supercharger. Any suggestions?????? Thanks

Not sure if I'm following what your saying but I will try to guess. Are you talking about a vacuum tree on the front left side near the throttle body. Some super chargers have 3 ports coming off this tree and others has 2 ports. You can remove the trees and change them. Here is a picture of the vacuum connections. Both can be swapped.

Hi Dan, Yes that is exactly what I am talking about. It is the 3 port tree in your picture. I wasn't sure if it was vacuum or if it was pressure. But yes, my new supercharger does not have that port opened up to insert the tree, so How do I bypass that and hook it up somewhere else?

You could hook a T up to another line I guess.

If it is a vacuum line, I am sure I can figure something out. But since the Supercharger creates pressure, Not Vacuum, I would think that the tree is a pressure line, not a vacuum line. Are you sure they are vacuum lines? Thanks

Those are on the vacuum side of the supercharger.

You can easily take care of it with vacuum line. The 96 and 97 chargers had the fitting,, then the remaining years didn't. T if off at the LIM under the snout, run to the FPR and then BCS. All good

I got the supercharger swapped out this past weekend.Everything went pretty well except one of my fuel injectors did not seat correctly and was leaking fuel. I had a small fire on top of my manifold, and it completely melted the plastic fuel lines coming to the fuel rail between the fuel rail and the firewall where they go back to the gas tank.Is there any way to replace the melted pieces or splice a new piece in without running a whole new line from the tank to the injectors? Why they used a plastic line I will never know.
