M62 Rebuild questions...
Ok, I tried searching a lot but could not really find any answers.
I am rebuilding an M62 blower and was wondering if there is a guide or online set of instructions around anywhere??
First, I am wondering how to remove the pulley shaft. I got the nose off, took the pulley off and the seal retainer, but I can't seem to get the seal out. I read that once you have the pulley off you should be able to just tap the shaft out from the front fairly easily, but mine won't budge at all.
Also, what is the trick to getting the rotor needle bearings out? Is there any way to do it without a special puller?
Any help would be great, Thanks

The proper way to pull the rotor bearings.. do you mean the ones behind the rotors in the casing or the ones in the rotor plate that is part of the rotor assembly?
On the shaft, I am unsure...however fairly soon you will have answers.

I'll move your topic to Forced Induction for you.
The shaft will tap out, but I prefer to use a press. You'll HAVE to have a press to reassemble the nosedrive. And you need to carefully measure the depth of the triple-pinned coupler plate in the ND for reassembly reference later. It'* the only way to determine if you are fully pressed in later.
On an older M62, do NOT buy the more durable longer-lasting seal. It has a hard time mating to your high-mileage grooved input shaft.
To remove the needle bearings in the inlet side of the case for the rotors, you have to drill/tap the bottom of the case and use a grease fitting to force the bearings out under pressure. Again, you need a press to reinsert them. Make sure you note how deep they're inserted before you re-press the new bearings. They don't go all the way.
As you can see, my nosedrive rebuild page isn't complete:

But this one is:

Note that I haven't fixed the links for the pics since I moved the pages from my server to the BC Forum server. If you want to view the other pages, just change the EXTENSION page name before the HTML, keeeping the bonneville forum link address prefix.
Larger pics of the needle bearing procedure are here:

Ok thanks, sorry for posting in the wrong spot.
I was trying to look for your rebuild pages Willwren because in all the posts I saw when I searched everybody referred to them but I couldn't find a blasted link to them. Thanks much for the info!!
I've been trying to get the nose shaft to tap out but it will not budge, I'm using a block of wood and a rubber mallet. Does the oil seal have to be out first??

If you don't have access to a press, look into local machine shops. Any decent shop will have a press and many are willing to help out for a small fee, some for free.
