Default Exhaust System (HELP)

Hey Guys...I am researching what to do with my exhaust...So far I think I will replace CAT with a 3" inlet/out...and a 3" inlet/2 1/2" outlet muffler and then to 2 1/2" tips..

MY question IS: WILL THESE SIZES BE MY BEST CHOICE....

I am still on the fence with a product brand...Thinking of MagnaFlow, Flowmaster or Xtreme....

ANY suggestions:

I have the MagnaFlow muffler. I like it but it can get a bit loud. I think the general favorite is still Flowmaster for mufflers.

I also have the 3" exhaust. I think you could get away with 2.5" - 2.75" with the same results. 3" will cost a bit more than the smaller sizes so it might be worth the savings. I am assuming this is a custom install. I would also go with mandral (sp?) bends to help airflow and there are some bends that can be removed by the rear right wheel. You can see here just how the pipe is dropped down a little and about 3 - 4 bends were removed by making more of a straight shot between the muffler and the engine. In short, the sizes you listed should work, but I wouldn't go any larger.

Your already on the right track with the other mods. The pulley, CAI, and chip are going to make use of the exhaust nicely.

Thanks buddy...That'* the kind of feedback i am looking for...I fully understand the aspects of reducing bends (mandral) and such...I have seen where someone has used a "y" after the CAT and then went to (2) Mufflers with attached tips...LOOKED pretty cool....

Thanks again

Default exhaust

i have a 92 bonnie. i made my own exhaust. dumped the cat, its not street leagal, but it sounds bitchin. i bought a stock pipe that attaches right to the exhaust manifolds. from there i added 2.5 inch straight pipes until the tank, then i used a 45degree bend that feeds to a thrush turbo mini cherry bomb (not the red glass packs , it looks like a mini stock muffler. then i placed a turndown after that, and it exits right before the passenger rear tire. it looks as sounds great. it didnt cost me more that 50 bucks and you can really feel the power gain from dumping the cat. i just keep the old exhaust for when i need quite time or emmisions.
