Default Must have a press?

I don't have an access to a press, but before we get into that...what exactly must be "pressed" in order to install new snout bearings?

No one I know around here has a press from what I recall. At work we have large hydrolic pressed that are just 2 plates where the top comes down towards the bottom plate in order to crimp the bezels on our Autometer gauges, but I've got a feeling I need to take a much different approach on installing snout bearings.

I'm trying to find a cost effective way of doing this because I really need to replace my bearings sometime this winter. If needs be I'll order an entire snout with new GM bearings from ZZP.

Most manual presses are manufactured by Dake. It'* a large manual rack & pinion affair with a long handle. You simly presse the bearings back into place with it. If you have a local machine ship that does head work, just take your stuff there. They'll do it for cheap if they don't let you do it yourself. Or the metal shop at a local college or high school if you have the connections. Or bring it here

Illinois CGP will help you i'm sure. They'll know someone or they'll have someone who'* got connections if not the press.
