Boost Control Actuator Problem
Ok, so I am kinda new to the thread but have looked at the forum plenty without being active enough. This forum has helped with an array of questions and would just like to thank everyone for the support and help ahead of time.
Aside from that, my problem. I have read most of the posts on problems with low boost. I have done the test, and my actuator does not move AT ALL, it is unmovable. I have tried oil on all the places stated in the troubleshooting. I know this is not good at all, and was wondering if there is anything to do to fix it; for instance if something was tightened that shouldn't be or anything else. The troubleshooting does not say anything after put light oil on all the ports, I am guessing it assumes it should help it work.
The contradicting problem is that I have been getting the usual 2-3 PSI of boost like the rest of us with this problem. But after not being able to move the actuator I went ahead and plugged the vacuum line for the BCS and took it for a drive and got 5+ pounds of boost can't remember if it got up to stock numbers. It just confused me, so are both bad? I am currently trying to buy new BCS and BCA from another member which would be a lifesaver. Thanks all for the help.
Car is 1995 SSEI to clarify. 110k miles if it matters.

True Car Nut
The boost control actuator does not increase boost, it is there to eliminate boost at idle, reverse and acceleration. Consider it a relief valve. If its open all the time, that'* more a problem that you will feel in performance, than if it won't open at all.

Ah, I got ya. Do you know if it is the actual actuator being bad or some vacuum line or the shaft, or maybe some bolt on too tight to not allow any movement? When the car is on or off the actuator does not move up, down, around, in any direction at all, completely stiff.

I just bought an actuator and solenoid from a member on the forum so I'm waiting for that to get here and hopefully ill have my problem fixed. If that doesn't fix it completely maybe a vacuum line problem? How could I check for a leak?

Vacuum leaks are easy to find. Start you car and use a can of carb cleaner and spray around a vacuum line or tree. If the engine rev'* when you spray, you've found the leak.

Good news! I have received my 'new' parts from a person on this forum; got a BCS and BCA and replaced both and now the problem of low boost and poor performance is done with. Thanks for the help.
