SC Gasket
I recently replaced my SC gasket on my 1993 SSEI and I noticed a world of a difference. I recommend everyone to do this, and while your at, drain your SC oil and replace it. In the long run it will pay off. $20 Canadian for the gasket, and $22 for two bottles of supercharger oil. My boost actually stays a lot higher now!!

If there were vac leaks as stated then replacing the gasket would help. What was your boost like before you changed the gasket?
Changing the oil is just good maintenance. $22 for two bottles though! Cost me less than $10 Canadian for two bottles back in April.
This isn't a mechanical problem as much as it is a comment on maintenance, moving to Forced Induction.

I have replaced quite a few charger gaskets that were blown out. The ones I've done were because of lower intake gaskets leaking, but when I get the charger off I noticed the gasket is sometimes blown. I would say 1 in every 5, maybe 1 in 4, have been blown.
Maybe I live in some part of the world that has a strange magnetic field though and causes premature failure of Bonneville parts cause I seem to be the only one who sees these problems.

Well, sallan and OldblueEyes makes two...not one.
Willwren, how many blowers have you "personally" removed from these engines? And how many have you personally inspected the gasket on?
To say that you have seen one of thousands fail is not a very accurate statement if you are going off of the forum. You have only removed a hand full of blowers...not thousands.
The gaskets that I have seen blown out are on cars that run fine, the only reason that I work on them is because they have coolant leaks or blower noises.
I've been working on GM vehicles for over 12 years now, I think I have removed more blowers than you.

Sallan hasn't confirmed his was "blown," he just said he replaced it. He never mentioned why. Even if his was blown, 25% of members on this forum with L67s sure haven't had blown SC gaskets.
