well im back and i just put in my 180 thermostat...and guess what....so far no boost failure...i drove it hard core too. in fact at one point i was able to get 9-10 psi or so...i did not check the BCS with the trick but i want to wait and see if if that engine light comes back on...so far it has not...weird hay? maybe it was getting to hot and the computer was cutting the boost...
but i still want to check to make sure....

quick question....if i do the carb cleaner test what am i looking to happen? is the idle going to increase because of the flammable carb cleaner? is this the best way to find a vacuum leak....

ok well i checked it and i could not find anything....i sprayed around the SC all around the TB and every vacuum hose i could see...maybe there is one that i am not seeing...one thing i did notice is that at idle, my BCS is at 12 o clock or so...but out of nowhere i looked again and it was at 9 o clock... does this just mean that it has lost the vacuum or do you think its the BCS that is the issue...\
thanks again

That'* odd. Let'* clarify though, the BCS is the electronic soleniod held on to the BCA (black can with rod coming out) by a 10mm nut.
The o'clock references are pretty confusing. At rest the lever on the SC should be laying flat and at full boost it should be pointing straight upward.

this is what i am going to do...i can replace the BCS for free so i am going to do that and see if it works...if it does work, then thats great...if not then it just means i have eliminated that as an issue

Bypassing it should be at 12 though.. IIRC.
