Default M62 rotors

Is there any difference between rotors of a 92/93 and 94/95? Besides coating...

a question...what'* the coating for??? I was cleaning the carbon off of my 94 rotors and the coating just started peeling right off. I just took the rest of it off to keep it from going into the intake.

I think it was a teflon layer. The rotors should have very little clearence between them, but the outer coating was teflon to reduce wear. Without it, you should be fine, just a little more clearence.

BTW, I ask because I'm considering swapping the old nose, bearings, and rotors from my 92 SC to the 94 on my car now. My bearings are kinda noisy recently, and I remember them being quieter on the old one.

I just had new bearings and seal put in the nose of a 94 M62 I'm working on. It wasn't too hard or expensive.

Mine is covered in carbon. Why is that?

That'* normal. You'll see the same thing on the back of the throttle plate. The teflon coating on the rotor'* isn't there to reduce wear, either. It'* for helping to reduce the carbon buildup. Rotors don't ever touch each other or the rotor casing, anyway
