Hey Jeffery10x2 I too have asked him bout this mod.. hee hee..I"m sure he feels like a broken record by now.. hahaha Might I suggest doing a write up ( with pics preferable ) and send it to Mustafa ( Willwren ) or one of the mods admins so they can put it in the Techinfo. I think a lot of people will be asking bout this, and would become a common mod question.

Ok just disconnected the boost thing and bent the already curved hose back to the other thing. As for boost I was getting up to "0" now it goes up to abt 8-10 boost. Is there any thing I need to do so my engine doesnt blow up because of this latest Mod or am I good? I know the addtl tranny cooler is prob more of a priority now, Right or wrong?

Another question, Why did Gm manufactures install the boost solenoid the way it comes?
What is boost overload protection. Excuse all questions just a lil nervous with this new found power. Wanna make sure I protect it.

I still have that code 640 QDM problem. I need another PCM which I'm getting this week. Do u think that may contribute to my "0" boost problem?

I really don't know what would cause no boost, other than an electronic problem of some sort, because your boost came back after you disabled the computer activated boost dump. Although, your computer may see something your not, not able to report on it, and dumping your boost to protect. But that is a guess.

I didn't do this mod, and I hooked up the autotap scan tool to check it out, and the boost doesn't drop over 90mph, it stays at 11psi all the way from 0-110 (when we let off). I am confused as to why some peoples boost does, and some doesnt, or if you are just imagining things.

ok. some chips and programers raise or eliminate the boost control sol. function. i know that my hypertech doesnt, thats why i did the bypass. Willwren has a jet stage2 and it does. i honestly think the jet stage 2 does because when they list them, they show it for a non Sc car, so maybe the part of the EPROM that has the boost control sol, is eliminated from the chip.

Some of us who aren't running less restrictive engines with stock rocker ratios might be running with some KR and maybe that tells the computer to pull back on the boost
.....or maybe some computers are more sensitive than others and try to electronically limit the boost to 8 psi after a certain preset time....
....or maybe when it gets to 90 the KR is so extreme that it just feels like a loss of boost...
....or maybe it was that dirty fuel filter.
I pulled Jeffrey'* boost bypass hose off for my last trip, putting things back to normal and didn't have any problems with loss of power or boost up to 190 kph.
