Default Blower paint

With an impending sc rebuild coming, I NEED to get that nasty Floz paint job off my blower. What is a good way to get paint off and what'* a good paint to replace it with?

won't the stock coat/paint be under it once you get the silver off?

I'd just try some form of basic paint remover.

I figure removing the last layer of paint will also remove the base paint.

Sand blast it or aircraft paint remover then polish it or get it powder coated.

My nearby GTP connection sanded his blower down and it actually looks quite nice, especially with a ZZP IC.

Try MEK on a non-obvious part. My bet is the silver cheapo floz paint will come off, leaving the factory Eaton paint untouched.

Methyl Ethyl Ketone. Solvent. Paint store.

For the rookie'*, painting a SC can negatively affect heat transfer (SC cooling), which (besides the obvious cosmetic concern) John is trying to do this.

Do NOT paint your SC without contacting Eaton or Magnusson for guidance.
