Default before SSEi goes BOOM!

Rebuilt */c, 180 t-stat, new plugs, wires, good fuel pressure w/ new 255 lph walbro, magnaflow hi-flow cat and exhaust,

What I am GOING to do (in order):
already have 180 t-stat, will drill.

What I WANT to do (in order):
pulley 2.2" - I believe I would have all supporting mods at this point, am I correct?

Now lastly is a chip worth considering? JET and Intense seems to be mentioned frequently however if they do not add power could someone please explain what they would do?

Also Willwren "suggested" that I test for KR throughout the process, is anyone local to orange county that has one they could, um, share for a little bit? ( I am known to provide refreshments for help )

INTENSE doesn't make a PCM for you. They do 97 and newer only.

Jet is your only option with any amount of customer satisfaction. I run one. The chip comes AFTER the other mods. It'* designed to work with them, not make power by itself.

1. You still need to check your fuel pressure at the rail. The new pump isn't the whole story. You have other components that can have a negative effect on fuel pressure, and if you go lean under boost, you go BOOM. Did you read the topic I linked you to?

2. You also need to remove your exhuast manifolds and repair the cracks. You have them. I can gaurantee it. While they're off, you should stitch-weld the outer part of each runner where it enters the flange, and grind out the factory weld on the inside of each port.

3. You need to BUY a scantool. Once the pulley is on the car (after doing the two things above), you will have to scan for KR. Now, and again a couple times in spring and summer. The scantool goes hand in hand with the pulley.

SC pulleys are not a 'slap it on and go fast' mod for the older L67'* any more. In the last year, we've seen more and more 92/93 L67'* respond negatively to a 2.2" pulley. And it recently cost someone a motor.

In addition, I hope you run premium fuel in your car AT ALL TIMES. It'* required from the factory, 91 octane minimum. After the pulley, you're going to want more octane, which may prove difficult for you. I rarely see premium unleaded in CA higher than 91 octane.

When I drive the Zilla to CA, I carry higher octane in the trunk on the trip to boost up the octane if I have to fill up while I'm there.
